Originally i created this video so that my sons could use my motorhome showing them detailed description on opening up a carefree rv awning.
The ratchet mechanism is essentially a directional lever located on the end of the awning closest to the front of the rv.
Awning will not open.

Using your awning rod switch the lever to the open position.
I had a buddy who had the same problem and it was the cable from the motor to the controller.
You are supposed to connect a 12v battery to them to run the awning.

To start with you have to open the awning little bit with emergency re tractor method.
Believe it or not these are for manual operation.

The problem with my carefree awning is when i open it it stay open for few seconds then is closed on it own.
All rvs that come with an awning will come with an awning rod as well.

Release a sticky awning ratchet lever by releasing the awning lever with one hand while pulling down gently on the awning support arm with your other hand.
