You could also use a can of spray paint to paint the blades. Clean the fan blades arms and the brass bottom cover well with a damp rag and some multi purpose spray cleaner if necessary. Take the metal arms and the bottom plate outside to spray paint. Of course now i recommend taking the fan down and outside to spray the parts and then reinstall.

Let the primer dry. Allow the blades and hardware to air dry thoroughly.
